The Haywood County Homeownership Assistance Program (HAP) is once again accepting applications! If you’re a low- to medium-income household impacted by Tropical Storm Fred or a first-time homebuyer, you may qualify for financial help.

Funding is available to cover:

– Up to 30% of the purchase price for down payment assistance

– Up to 5% for closing costs

Homebuyer education and counseling are required before closing. Visit the Haywood County HAP webpage for full details on eligibility and how to apply. Limited funding is available, so apply soon!

Priority will be given to households earning 80% or less of the area’s median income, followed by those earning up to 120% of the area’s median income.
