PAYMENT OPTIONS
We offer a variety of options for you to pay your Town of Canton UTILITY BILL, PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES, and/or REAL ESTATE TAXES. Please see the payment options for utilities and taxes below as they do differ.
HAS YOUR WATER BEEN DISCONNECTED OR DUE TO BE DISCONNECTED?
IMPORTANT: If your service has been disconnected or is due to be disconnected you will need to call Town Hall at 648-2363 and speak to the Water Department who will determine the amount you need to pay to restore or maintain your service. YOUR ACTUAL BALANCE DUE WILL NOT REFLECT YOUR CUT-OFF FEE ON YOUR ONLINE ACCOUNT OR OVER THE PHONE.
ONLINE
You have the option of paying your bill at any time by taking advantage of PSN’s 24/7 independent third-party automated online payment service. You may use your credit card, debit card, or checking account to pay your bill.

BANK AUTO DRAFT
You have the option of setting up an auto draft with the Town of Canton to have your payment come out of your checking account with no fees. Payments come out on the third of every month.
You will need to fill out an Automatic Bank Draft Authorization Form (forms are available in the office) and bring it to Town Hall with a voided check or you can download the form above and submit it to prathbone@cantonnc.com with a photo of your voided check.
Step 1. Gather your information:
UTILITY BILL:
– Bottom portion of your utility bill.
– Check or money order (made out to Town of Canton).
TAX BILL:
– Bottom portion of your tax bill.
– Check or money order (made out to Town of Canton Tax Collector).

BY PHONE
The Town of Canton does not accept payments over the phone. However, you have the option of paying your bill at any time by taking advantage of PSN’s 24/7 independent third-party automated phone payment service.

IN PERSON
UTILITY BILL: You can pay your utility bill at Town Hall during office hours with cash, check or money order (made out to Town of Canton), debit card, or credit card (Mastercard or Visa ONLY).
TAX BILL: You can pay your tax bill at Town Hall during office hours with cash, check or money order (made out to Town of Canton Tax Collector), or debit card.
* We DO NOT accept credit card payments for taxes.
CONVENIENT 24/7 DROPBOX
You can leave your payment with your bill payment stub in our secure dropbox at any time. Payments are collected and processed during office hours only. The box is located on the driveway that runs in front of the Police Department and Municipal buildings located at 85 Summer Street. * You will not get a receipt.
