Daily Water Update Feb 8th at 2:36

Daily Water Update

Daily Canton Water Update Water levels in the Spruce Tank continue to slowly rise; however, this process remains gradual due to normal water usage. Stage 2 Water Conservation measures and the Boil Water Advisory remain in effect at this time. Please note for all customers in the Spruce Street area. Our system is still in a fragile state, meaning that if any additional major leaks occur, continued water service disruptions are possible. We attempted to start pumps this morning, but we are still just below tank levels to be able to run.  We will continue to try throughout the afternoon to start back. We continue to strongly encourage all customers to limit water usage as much as possible so the system can recover and full water service can be restored for everyone.  We have not had any reports of leaks at this point, however, if you see something that is a possible leak, please call 828-648-2376 to report to our on call service. Please be aware that short periods of low pressure or temporary outages may occur as the main tanks refill before pushing water back to the Spruce Street area. This is normal system operation and is more noticeable due to the lower levels in the Spruce Street tank. We will post updates on social media outlets, cantonnc.com, and once daily via Everbridge.  Please note that we do not monitor these sites and if you still are without water service tomorrow after 8am, please call 828-648-2363 to report.  We sincerely apologize for the interruption of service and greatly appreciate your understanding and patience during this difficult time.
