Canton Water Update Feb 7th 5:00pm

At this time, there are no major leaks in the Canton water system. Water levels in the Spruce Tank continue to rise slowly; however, recovery is gradual due to ongoing water usage. Stage 2 Water Conservation measures and the Boil Water Advisory remain in effect.

We strongly encourage all customers to limit water use as much as possible so the system can continue to recover and full water service can be restored for everyone.

Our goal remains to reach sufficient tank levels to restore water service to all customers sometime tomorrow afternoon.

Please be aware that some customers may experience brief periods of low water pressure or temporary outages. This is a normal part of system operation as the main tanks refill before pushing water back to the Spruce Tank and is more noticeable due to the currently low water levels. Customers who have been without water continuously are likely located above the tank. Until water levels reach the required threshold, the booster pump cannot be activated to supply those areas.

Updates will be shared on the Town of Canton’s social media outlets, at cantonnc.com, and once daily via Everbridge. Please note that these platforms are not monitored. If you are still without water service after 2:00 p.m. tomorrow, please call 828-648-2376 to report the issue.

We sincerely apologize for the service interruption and greatly appreciate your patience and understanding during this difficult time.
