Disaster Assistance Teams from Haywood County and FEMA are heading into storm-affected communities beginning Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Haywood County teams will be wearing brightly colored vests. FEMA teams will wear official badges and jackets. Teams will carry information packets, applications for assistance, and basic food and water supplies. We will post specific dates and locations here as they become available so check back often.
DAILY from 8:00 am – 7:00 pm: FEMA will be at the Regional High Tech Center at 112 Industrial Park Drive, Waynesville, NC 28786. They will also be canvassing different locations to help with assistance. Here you can see which areas they are covering daily.

FEMA’s Helene Disaster Recovery Center, located at 112 Industrial Drive, Waynesville, will be closed Friday and Saturday, January 10-11 due to anticipated weather-related conditions.
