MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!!
The 114th Annual Canton Labor Day Festival is excited to announce that Kaitlyn Baker will be performing on Monday, SEP 4 at 5:15pm in Sorrells Street Park in Downtown Canton. Presented by Champion Credit Union and sponsored by Ingles Markets.
Born and raised in the small town of Pound, VA, Kaitlyn Baker rises from the depths of the coal mines where her family has worked for generations and where the coal dust covers more than just the birds in a veneer of black. Baker has always known that singing would carry her far beyond the Appalachian peaks that she calls home. Referred to as a modern day “coal miner’s daughter,” her pure country voice rings of true and her songwriting rivals Nashville’s finest.
Baker got her start by singing in church, but she also began to perform professionally, as a young girl. By the time she was 14, she had recorded three self-produced albums, which were sold at live performances. Though she is a country artist, she is steeped in musical influences spanning beyond.
Baker has performed coast to coast, and has opened for Brad Paisley, Tanya Tucker, Craig Morgan, Brett Eldredge, Travis Tritt, Billy Currington, Chase Bryant, Rhonda Vincent, Jim Lauderdale and many others. Notable appearances by Baker include Country Jam Colorado, the Riverbend Festival in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the Young Artist Awards in Los Angeles, California, Findlay Market – Cincinnati Reds Opening Day parade, and “Song of the Mountains,” a nationally syndicated public television concert series.
